Echo Creek Riding Academy has almost 20 horses of all sizes, ages,
and levels to teach you about the wonderful world of horses and
riding. Each horse is an individual teacher in their own right.
Our horses are loved and well care for.
You will ride one of them or you may bring your
own to ride in our large all weather footed riding ring.
In our ring
is an extensive collection
of jumps. These jumps enable the riders of different levels to
preform exercises to increase their skills. For example cavalettis,
and weaving posts are for all levels of rider to work on steering
and balance.
For the jumping rider there are grids, courses, a circle of jumps,
and good size coop.
In addition to riding in the ring, lessons may
be taught in one of our many pastures on our fifty acre farm.
In the future
we plan to build a mini cross country course.
For the family and friends of our students there
is an observation booth next to the ring. The barn has a lovely porch
with a view
of the ring too. On the cold or hot days there is a heated
and air conditioned
lounge. Friends and family are welcome to watch the lesson.
Upon completion of the lesson, riders
care for their horses and their equipment. The horses are washed
down in
our wash rack,
which is equipped with hot and cold water.
After cooling
out and putting their
horse away, the riders must clean their tack. They may
clean their tack in our heated and air conditioned tack room.
In
the tackroom
is tack specifically fitted to each horse. Each horse
needs to be as comfortable
as possible to carry you during your riding time.
Echo Creek is in the country 6 miles north of
the town of Hillsborough.
Echo Creek
is convenient
to Hillsborough, Durham, Chapel Hill, Mebane and Roxboro.
Come enjoy riding at our beautiful facility.
